Nearly six months on, hope hasn’t faded. According to NBC News, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos says the case of Nancy Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother who vanished from her Arizona home in February, remains active, describing ongoing DNA analysis across multiple labs nationwide.

His comments came after Savannah posted a new Instagram video on July 27, urging the person who may have taken her mother to “do the right thing” and reveal her whereabouts. The FBI continues investigating the case as a kidnapping for ransom.

Nanos said he remains “positive” the case will be resolved, encouraging anyone with information to come forward. The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for her safe return.
