Tom Homan criticized sanctuary city policies during a Minnesota visit, urging cooperation with ICE to enhance public safety and reduce criminal threats.
President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, said sanctuary cities function as “sanctuaries for criminals” that threaten public safety, during his first press conference after arriving in Minneapolis. He said his deployment to Minnesota was aimed at restoring order and removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from communities.
“I didn’t come to Minnesota for photo ops or headlines. I came here to seek solutions,” Homan said, noting meetings with Democratic state and city officials. He said cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement would allow resource drawdowns, stressing that jurisdictions refusing cooperation “endanger the residents of the community.”
