Trump mentioned hundreds of times in newly released Epstein files

The Justice Department released 3 million pages of Epstein files containing at least 3,200 mentions of President Trump, primarily from investigative tips, news articles exchanged by Epstein’s circle, and emails discussing Trump’s 2016 presidential prospects.

The Justice Department on Friday released 3 million pages of documents from its Jeffrey Epstein investigation, with files released so far containing at least 3,200 mentions of President Trump. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the release also included 2,000 videos and some 180,000 images, calling it the largest batch of Epstein files released to date. The documents arrived weeks after a December 19 deadline imposed by Congress.

Many Trump references appear in tips called into investigators, news articles mixed into the files that Epstein and associates regularly exchanged, and emails where “Epstein regularly discussed Trump, including musing about his chances in the 2016 presidential election,” according to Times reporting. Blanche insisted the White House “had nothing to do with this review,” stating “they had no oversight and they did not tell this department how to do our review and what to look for and what to redact or not redact.” Trump has denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
