Vice President JD Vance has remained silent on social media for four days following the DOJ’s release of over 3 million Epstein investigation files, breaking his usual posting pattern and drawing criticism for apparent hypocrisy given his 2021 complaints about Epstein coverage being dropped.

Vice President JD Vance has not posted on X since January 28, marking an unusual four-day absence from the platform following the Department of Justice’s release of more than 3 million files related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein on January 30. The extended break is rare for Vance, who typically posts multiple times daily and had not previously taken more than 48 hours off from the platform in January.
Critics highlighted the apparent contradiction between Vance’s current silence and his 2021 post asking, “Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring? And then that guy died mysteriously in a jail? And now we just don’t talk about it.” Former Michigan Representative Justin Amash mocked the vice president by paraphrasing his earlier statement and adding, “And now JD Vance just doesn’t talk about it.” The newly released documents included uncorroborated allegations against President Trump, which the White House and DOJ dismissed as “unfounded and false.”
