Mother of ‘TODAY’ anchor Savannah Guthrie missing, authorities say…

Police in Arizona are investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie as a possible crime, citing concerning evidence at her home and mounting urgency due to her medical needs.

Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing from her home near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, 2026. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said authorities believe “she did not leave on her own,” describing the residence as a “crime scene.”

Guthrie was last seen Saturday evening at her home in the Catalina Foothills area. Sheriff Nanos said evidence at the house suggested “something was wrong,” prompting the involvement of homicide detectives and specialised investigative units in the case.

Authorities said Guthrie requires daily medication, heightening concerns for her safety. Search efforts include “100 people” and “air assets.” The family confirmed it is a “missing persons case” and is cooperating with police, who urged anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Office.
