U.S. prosecutors say a review of newly released Epstein files found no credible evidence to pursue sexual misconduct allegations against President Donald Trump despite thousands of references to him in the records.
The Justice Department reviewed allegations linking President Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein but found no credible information warranting further investigation, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said Sunday. His comments followed the release of about three million pages from the department’s Epstein probe, which reignited scrutiny of Trump’s past association with the late financier.
The New York Times identified more than 5,300 files referencing Trump or related terms, largely consisting of news articles and previously public materials. Officials said none include direct communication between Trump and Epstein. Trump has denied wrongdoing and downplayed the friendship, which ended in the early 2000s.
