The Daily Star leads with the headline “Taxi for Andy” following the arrest and subsequent release under investigation of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The Daily Telegraph describes the former Duke of York as looking “like a man with with the full weight of the past and the future on his shoulders” following his arrest. 

The i Paper

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s release under investigation after spending much of Thursday in police custody makes the front page of The i Paper. 

Daily Mirror

The Daily Mirror leads on the King’s statement that the “law must take its course” in relation to the arrest of his brother on suspicion of misconduct in public office. 

The Times

Andrew’s arrest – the first of a senior member of the royal family in modern history – is the “biggest crisis for the monarchy since the abdication”, according to The Times.

 “Downfall” is the one-word headline on the front of the Daily Mail, which claims Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor looked “haggard, shamed and haunted” as he left police custody on Thursday.

The King’s “deepest concern” following the arrest of his brother makes the front page of the Daily Express. 

The Sun

The Sun describes the former prince as “stunned and wild-eyed” after spending 11 hours in custody on his 66th birthday. 

The headline “Now he’s sweating” plays on an interview Andrew had with the BBC in 2019, in which he said he had a “peculiar medical condition” that prevented him from perspiring.

Financial Times

Donald Trump has set a 10-day window to determine whether the US will strike Iran or does a deal with the Islamic republic, according to the Financial Times.

The paper also leads on the arrest of Andrew at his home on the Sandringham estate on Thursday.
