Sir Tony Blair has criticised Sir Keir Starmer’s approach to the Iran war, according to The Sunday Telegraph.

The newspaper says that the former Labour leader told a “private luncheon” on Friday that the current prime minister should have done more to support the US’s bombing campaign from the start.

Sir Tony also reportedly described the conflict as “not like Vietnam” or the 2003 Iraq war, and said Donald Trump had a “pretty fundamental understanding of what the stakes are” in the region.

The Observer

People leaving Dubai – described as an “exodus” –  is the lead story in tomorrow’s The Observer. It comes amid renewed focus on safety in the city as the conflict in the Middle East continues.

The newspaper has updated its front page – a previous version shown here earlier this evening was about a feature on the issue of embryo testing (which is now promoted above the publication’s masthead).

The newspaper quotes a former prison guard as saying: “No one will shed any tears.”

The death of double child murderer Ian Huntley is the lead story in the Daily Star Sunday. The 52-year-old died from his injuries today after being attacked at HMP Frankland last month.

Fellow inmates at the prison cheered when they found out the news he had died, the newspaper says.

The Mail On Sunday
