Saudi Arabia has warned Iran it will face “the heaviest consequences” if attacks on the Kingdom and Gulf states continue amid rising regional tensions.
Saudi Arabia has warned Iran against continuing attacks targeting the Kingdom and the Gulf region, saying Tehran would face serious repercussions if the escalation persists. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Iran would bear “the heaviest diplomatic, economic, and strategic consequences,” warning it could emerge as “the biggest loser.”
Riyadh accused Tehran of carrying out a “sustained campaign of aggression against the Kingdom, fellow GCC and other nations,” condemning attacks on civilian airports and oil infrastructure. The ministry said “the targeting of civilian airports and oil facilities is nothing but a demonstration of determination to threaten security and stability and a flagrant violation of international covenants and international law.”
Saudi air defenses reportedly intercepted several Iranian missiles and drones on Monday, including projectiles aimed at Prince Sultan Air Base and the Shaybah oil field. Officials said the attacks followed deadly strikes that killed two people on Sunday, raising concerns that Gulf states could consider a stronger response to Iran.
