Tiger Woods was released from a Florida jail hours after being arrested on DUI charges following a rollover crash near his home in Jupiter Island.
Golf legend Tiger Woods was released from a Florida jail Friday night about eight hours after being booked on driving under the influence charges following a rollover crash in Jupiter Island. Authorities said the 50-year-old was taken into custody after his Land Rover overturned while attempting to overtake a truck on a narrow road.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Woods appeared impaired at the scene but alcohol was not suspected. “Mr. Woods did exemplify the signs of impairment,” Budensiek said, adding that Woods later took a Breathalyzer test and “blew triple zeroes.”
Police said Woods was cooperative but refused a urinalysis test and was charged with DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. The golfer, who was not injured, left the Martin County Jail through a rear exit after spending several hours in custody.
