A pilot of a Tarom passenger jet fainted mid-flight over Europe, triggering an emergency landing after admitting he had not slept the night before departure. The incident occurred on a return flight from the Netherlands to Romania, with the co-pilot declaring an emergency as the aircraft landed safely at Otopeni Airport and passengers were assisted by medical teams on arrival.
According to aviation investigators, the co-pilot had also reported feeling unwell before take-off but proceeded with the flight, later being placed under restricted duties following the incident.
