2028: Mark Cuban closes the door on Kamala Harris

Billionaire Mark Cuban, one of Kamala Harris’s most prominent surrogates during her failed 2024 presidential campaign, has publicly declared he will not support another Harris run for the White House, dismissing the idea entirely just weeks after she signalled she was considering a 2028 comeback

Mark Cuban has made a clean break from Kamala Harris. Speaking at Politico’s Health Care Summit on Tuesday, the billionaire entrepreneur who campaigned visibly for Harris in 2024 delivered an unambiguous verdict on a potential 2028 rematch. Asked whether he wanted to see her run again, Cuban responded simply: “No.”

When asked to recall her healthcare message during her short-lived 2024 presidential campaign, Cuban said: “Don’t remember, don’t care. Those days are gone.”

Pressed further on his reasoning, Cuban said: “I don’t care at this point in time. Right now, we’ve got until 2028. I don’t care who the candidates are, I’m not trying to pick a candidate, I’m not trying to promote a candidate. I’m trying to change how f*cked up this healthcare industry is right now. That’s all I care about.”

Cuban added that he would consider supporting a Republican candidate depending on “what’s best for the country,” saying “I’m not an ideologue about parties.” Harris had signalled earlier this month she was seriously considering a 2028 run, telling Al Sharpton: “Listen, I might, I might. I’m thinking about it.” Cuban’s dismissal lands as a significant blow to any potential Harris comeback, given his prominence as one of her most visible supporters in the previous cycle.
