Obama revealed in a New Yorker profile that post-presidential political demands have strained his marriage while also questioning the wisdom of the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.
Former President Barack Obama has acknowledged that continued pressure to remain politically active after leaving office has created friction at home, with Michelle Obama growing frustrated at his sustained public engagement.
“She wants to see her husband easing up and spending more time with her, enjoying what remains of our lives,” Obama told The New Yorker. “It does create a genuine tension in our household, and it frustrates her.”
Obama attributed his prolonged political presence to President Trump’s “recklessness,” while also weighing in on the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, saying Netanyahu had “gotten what he wanted” from Trump — though questioning whether it truly served American or Israeli interests.
