The Italian police have arrested two Nigerians and three other African migrants over the alleged abduction and gang rape of a 32-year-old Colombian tourist in Rome, according to Sahara Reporters.
The victim was reportedly lured from a restaurant on May 19 by a man offering hashish, before being taken to an abandoned building on the city’s outskirts. She was allegedly held for about 72 hours, repeatedly assaulted, drugged, and threatened, before managing to escape and alert a passerby.
Police later raided the site and arrested five suspects while also discovering undocumented migrants inside the property. Investigations are ongoing as authorities search for additional suspects linked to the case. Authorities vow thorough probe as public reaction continues to grow in Italy.
