American art influencer Hilde Lynn Helphenstein — better known online as “Jerry Gogosian” — was found dead Sunday at the five-star Rosewood São Paulo in Brazil, according to the New York Post. The 40-year-old Californian had been in the country for three weeks recovering from plastic surgery when her surgeon discovered her unresponsive after she failed to answer calls.
An empty vodka bottle, broken glass, and unidentified pills were reportedly found nearby. Authorities have registered the case as a “suspicious death,” with no official cause yet confirmed.
Helphenstein, a San Francisco Art Institute graduate with 150,000+ Instagram followers, was known for hilariously skewering the excesses of the contemporary art world. Her final posts? Pure joy. Hours later, she was gone.
