Brazilian woman, 21, dies after bridge swing staff forget to attach safety rope

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, died after workers at a São Paulo bridge swing attraction threw her off the edge without attaching her to a safety rope.

A Brazilian thrill-seeker died after staff at a bridge swing attraction forgot to attach her safety rope before throwing her off, The Sun reports.

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, was carried in a superman pose by workers at the popular Ponte do Esqueleto trail in Limeira, São Paulo, before being flung over the edge on Saturday — without being secured to her harness.

Voices in the video can be heard screaming “the rope, people, the rope” seconds after she was released. She fell more than 131ft to the ground. Six people were arrested at the scene.

In a chilling final social media post hours earlier, Maria had written: “Who was the crazy person who let me jump off a bridge?”
