Diplomats appear to snub Vance at Iran peace summit in Switzerland

U.S. Vice President JD Vance faced a string of public snubs from key delegates during Iran peace talks in Switzerland.

It wasn’t the warm diplomatic welcome Washington might have hoped for. U.S. Vice President JD Vance reportedly endured an awkward moment at Iran peace talks in Switzerland, where several top delegates appeared to freeze him out.

According to The Daily Beast, Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman skipped past Vance during greetings, opting instead to embrace Iranian and Pakistani officials. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reportedly went further, declining a joint photo with the American delegation altogether.

The chill came as Vance tried to sell diplomacy at the Lake Lucerne Summit, even as President Donald Trump struck a noticeably tougher tone on Iran from Washington, muddying the message as talks continued behind closed doors.
