Former nurse Lindsay Clancy goes on trial this week in Massachusetts, accused of strangling her three young children while battling severe postpartum depression.
Ex-Nurse’s Trial Opens Over Deaths of Her 3 Kids
The trial of Lindsay Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, opens this week over the strangling deaths of her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and eight-month-old Callan — in January 2023, according to Tribune Online.
Prosecutors say her husband found the children unconscious in their Duxbury, Massachusetts basement after Clancy told him she’d tried to take her own life. She survived a fall from a window but was left paralyzed.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty. Her defense argues she wasn’t criminally responsible due to severe mental illness, including postpartum depression, worsened by recent medication changes. Prosecutors maintain she was legally responsible for her actions.
