Turns out Fauci kept receipts. According to Fox News, newly released diary entries from Dr. Anthony Fauci offer a rare, unfiltered look at his private thoughts on the politicians, TV personalities, and celebrities who orbited him during COVID-19.
The diaries, released by Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rand Paul, come just days before Fauci testifies before the same committee following a subpoena. They document his day-to-day pandemic role through meetings, calls, and candid personal takes.
Early entries show a warm relationship between Fauci and Trump, who reportedly called him “the smartest person in the world” and told him, “We are counting on you.” But things soured with then-chief of staff Mark Meadows, who allegedly threatened to keep Fauci off TV and once “screamed” over his comments.
Fauci had kinder words for Alyssa Farah, who admitted staff had been “holding me back,” but blasted then-HHS official Michael Caputo as “a con man.” CNN’s Jake Tapper features heavily too, with dinners and calls documented, while Fauci cursed at The Atlantic’s Peter Nicholas in one heated entry.
Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer also appear, offering support after Fauci’s clash with Rep. Jim Jordan. Larry Ellison gets called “a bit of a loose cannon.”
Beyond politics, the diary reads like a celebrity guest list — Julia Roberts sent flowers and hosted him on Instagram Live, while Anna Wintour, Trevor Noah, Steph Curry, Sean Penn, Matt Damon and Lil Wayne all make cameos.
