A 12-year-old Florida girl faces felony charges after allegedly sending a school attack threat using a classmate’s account.
A 12-year-old girl in Florida has been charged with two felonies after allegedly sending a threatening message about a planned school attack. Authorities say the message, sent to a teacher at Louise S. McInnis Elementary School, warned of intentions to “shoot up” the school on the last day of classes.
Investigators discovered the message was sent using a classmate’s account, reportedly accessed by the suspect, identified as his ex-girlfriend. She now faces charges of making written or electronic threats to kill and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office shared footage of the arrest, which quickly gained widespread attention online, as officials continue to stress the seriousness of such threats.
