Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is ‘in coma and has lost a leg’

A source who claimed to have contacts with the trauma team at the hospital where Mojtaba Khamenei is being treated said Iran’s Supreme Leader has ruptured his internal organs and lost a leg

Reports claim Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in a coma after suffering severe injuries. Sources cited in the reports say he is receiving intensive medical care at Sina University Hospital in Tehran, where security forces have reportedly sealed off parts of the facility.

According to the claims, Khamenei suffered major internal injuries and lost at least one leg. Medical teams led by senior trauma surgeon Mohammad Reza Zafargjani are reportedly treating him as his condition is described as critical.

The reports did not confirm how the injuries were sustained, though they come amid ongoing regional conflict that previously led to the death of his father, Ali Khamenei. Iranian state media earlier referred to Mojtaba as wounded during the fighting but provided few details about his condition.
