Secret Service agents assigned to Vice President JD Vance are reportedly fed up with repeated last-minute personal travel requests, including a planned Marine Two flight to a golf lesson.
Vance Secret Service Agents Complain Over Last-Minute Travel Demands
JD Vance’s Secret Service detail is leaking frustration, with current and former agents describing a morale problem driven by frequent unplanned “off the record” movements, according to an MS NOW investigation cited by The Daily Beast.
One episode involved a request for Marine Two to ferry Vance and his young son to a golf lesson at Joint Base Andrews — ultimately canceled due to bad weather. Agents told the outlet that last-minute trips routinely force staff to cancel personal time and rapidly build security plans.
“The detail is tired of them not giving notice on things,” one source said. Vance’s office praised agents for protecting “a young and growing family,” while Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn said long hours and flexibility are standard parts of the job.
