Donald Trump warned Iran’s supreme leader to be “very worried” as U.S.–Iran nuclear talks face uncertainty amid heightened military and diplomatic pressure.
President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, “should be very worried” as negotiations between Washington and Tehran face growing uncertainty. “He should be very worried. Yeah, he should be. As you know, they’re negotiating with us,” Mr Trump said in excerpts of an NBC News interview.
The remarks followed an ongoing U.S. military buildup in the Middle East and disputes over the venue and format of talks on Iran’s nuclear programme and sanctions relief. While the U.S. and Israel accuse Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons, Tehran insists its programme is for peaceful purposes.
