King Charles III’s four-day US state visit includes no planned meeting with Prince Harry, despite his son living in California — the latest sign that their fractured relationship remains unresolved.
King Charles III has arrived in the United States for a landmark four-day state visit — but one notable meeting appears absent from his carefully arranged itinerary: a reunion with his younger son, Prince Harry.
Harry, 41, lives in California with his wife Meghan and their two children, yet Buckingham Palace has made no arrangements for a father-son encounter. Palace officials declined to comment when asked directly.
The omission speaks volumes given the family’s turbulent recent history — Harry’s tell-all memoir, his Netflix series, a lost lawsuit over security protection, and his 2020 departure from royal duties have all deepened the rift.
Yet Harry has never abandoned hope. “I would love reconciliation with my family,” he told the BBC last May.
A brief meeting last September — their first in 19 months — raised hopes of a thaw. But with Charles moving from Washington to New York before departing Thursday, a California detour was never on the cards.
