Ohio pastor Silas H. Shelton, who campaigned against LGBTQ-themed books and Pride flags, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.
A pastor who built a public crusade against LGBTQ books and Pride flags is now facing the consequences of his own crimes.
Silas H. Shelton, from Wilmington, Ohio, has been sentenced to the maximum 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to three felony counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, LGBTQ Nation reports. He’d initially faced more serious charges, including rape and sexual battery.
The judge handed down the maximum term after saying Shelton showed “no remorse” and refused to take responsibility.
He’ll also have to register as a Tier II sex offender every six months for 25 years after release.
LGBTQ Nation reported Shelton had previously campaigned against LGBTQ-themed books and Pride flags as harmful to children.
