A man in his 30s has died outside a Lidl supermarket in Minehead, Somerset, after emergency services were called in the early hours of Saturday morning, with police treating the death as unexplained but not suspicious.
A man in his 30s has died outside a Lidl supermarket in Somerset, prompting police to launch an investigation and cordon off the scene.
Avon and Somerset Police were called to the store in Seaward Way, Minehead, shortly before 5am on Saturday by the South Western Ambulance Service, whose paramedics were already administering emergency treatment.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been formally identified and his next of kin informed.
Police confirmed the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
“Formal identification has taken place and his next of kin has been informed. Our thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time and they are being offered support,” a force spokesperson said.
A heightened police presence remained in the area throughout the day as enquiries continued.
