A Napoli supporter was reportedly stabbed by his wife after a heated argument triggered by a controversial VAR decision during a Serie A match
A supporter of SSC Napoli was allegedly stabbed by his wife at their home following an argument during a Serie A match against Atalanta BC, Italian media reported. The dispute began after the 40-year-old man became frustrated when a VAR decision overturned a penalty for Napoli, prompting him to shout at the television, which his wife reportedly believed was directed at her.
The argument escalated when the woman allegedly threatened him, threw scissors and later stabbed him with a kitchen knife before police arrived and arrested her on charges including domestic violence and aggravated assault. The man was taken to Ospedale del Mare, where he was treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening, as Napoli currently sit third in the league table behind AC Milan and leaders Inter Milan.
