A second note connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie — mother of NBC Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie — has surfaced claiming she has died, per NBC News and CNN.
Unlike the first note, which demanded a ransom of millions of dollars, this second message contained no apology and no request for payment — just the devastating claim that Guthrie had died, according to three people familiar with the matter.
Investigators reportedly believe both notes may be legitimate communications from kidnappers.
Nancy Guthrie vanished from her home near Tucson, Arizona on February 1. Her fate remains unknown.
