Nicole Blain has been convicted of murdering her newborn daughter in Scotland after medical evidence disproved her claims that the fatal injuries were an accident caused by another child.
A Scottish woman, Nicole Blain, 30, has been found guilty of murdering her 19-day-old daughter, Thea Wilson, at the High Court in Glasgow. The court heard the infant suffered catastrophic injuries in July 2023, including skull fractures, brain damage, broken ribs and bleeding behind the eyes at Blain’s flat in Scotland.
Prosecutors rejected Blain’s claim that another child was responsible, with medical experts stating the injuries were consistent with violent shaking and blunt force trauma. The court heard the baby was later found unresponsive before being taken to hospital, where she died. Blain has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced next month.
