TRUMP ENDORSES DARLINE GRAHAM FOR FULL SENATE TERM
President Donald Trump has endorsed Darline Graham, sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, to seek a full U.S. Senate term in South Carolina, boosting the state’s closely watched Republican race.
According to the Daily Caller, Trump urged Graham to enter the August 11 special Republican primary and pledged his “complete and total endorsement.” Graham was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster to temporarily fill her brother’s Senate seat after his death; she previously served as a commissioner on the South Carolina Commission for the Blind and had not held elected office.
Trump said Graham would be the best person to honour her brother’s legacy if she runs, and her candidacy could reshape the Republican field ahead of the special primary.
