Trump has called Iran’s drone strike on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz a violation of their ceasefire, but won’t retaliate militarily.
The ink’s barely dry on the ceasefire, and already trouble’s brewing. US President Donald Trump has slammed Iran’s drone strike on a cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz as a “foolish violation” of the truce between Washington and Tehran.
According to CNN, four one-way attack drones targeted passing ships, with one striking a cargo vessel’s upper deck while three were intercepted. The ship sailed on, no injuries reported.
Still, Trump isn’t reaching for the military button, seemingly keen to keep the shaky peace alive.
The strike comes just days after both nations agreed to reopen the strait and deepen nuclear talks, talks still snagged on shipping rules and transit fees.
