President Donald Trump has called for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to be charged with inciting violence, linking his “maximum warfare” redistricting campaign to a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
President Donald Trump on Thursday called for Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to be charged with “INCITING VIOLENCE,” escalating his pattern of seeking legal action against political opponents.
In a Truth Social post, Trump juxtaposed an image of Jeffries gesturing at a “maximum warfare” sign — a redistricting initiative — alongside an image from the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which occurred three days later.
Jeffries dismissed the attack, posting on X: “The Knicks are up 2-0 and I have to wake up to another deranged rant from this guy. Gas prices are sky high, grocery bills are surging and families can’t catch a break.”
Trump’s push against Jeffries follows a broader pattern. A grand jury previously rejected efforts to indict six Democratic senators Trump accused of sedition, while charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James were later dropped.
