Jalen Brunson scored 45 points as the Knicks beat the Spurs 94-90 to win their first NBA title in 53 years

Jalen Brunson did not just win the NBA Finals. He owned the night.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Brunson poured in 45 points, including 13 straight in the fourth quarter, as the New York Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 to seal a 4-1 series victory and their first NBA title in 53 years.
This was superstar stuff. Brunson dragged New York back from a 16-point deficit, broke the Knicks’ Finals scoring record previously held by Willis Reed, and closed the game like a man who knew history was waiting.
Mikal Bridges added 14 points, while Josh Hart chipped in 13 as the “Nova Knicks” completed the dream. For New York, the drought is over. For Brunson, legend status is official.
