The issue of Bibi is interesting, because he’s got his own domestic issues. He’s trying to stay out of jail. He’s got an election coming up. He’s potentially on the ropes.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Tuesday likened Israel to an “apartheid state” and said the U.S. may need to reconsider military support. Speaking in Los Angeles while promoting his memoir, Newsom said Israel’s leadership is “walking us down that path where I don’t think you have a choice about that consideration.” He criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over domestic and regional policies.
Newsom also questioned Israel’s military strategy, asking, “We’re talking about regime change?” and adding, “For two years, they haven’t even been able to solve the Hamas question in Israel.” His remarks come amid renewed debate within the Democratic Party over U.S. backing for Israel following recent strikes in Iran.
