Finnish President Alexander Stubb says Russia’s Vladimir Putin is making “minuscule progress” on territory in Ukraine, but he is continuing the war because Russia’s is doing “extremely badly” economically.
“He’s not going to be able to pay back the soldiers who go. So, he doesn’t want to end this war, not because he thinks he can gain more territory, but because he knows that he’s going to get scolded at home,” Stubb tells CBS News’ @edokeefe.
On the peace talks to end the war, Stubb says territory remains the “key issue.”
