Mayweather can reportedly avoid losing his passport by paying the debt in full or agreeing to a settlement or instalment plan. Other possible options include proving hardship, identity theft, or filing for bankruptcy. The issue could affect his planned June 27 exhibition fight in Athens against Mike Zambidis.
The 49-year-old has also faced other lawsuits this year over alleged unpaid rent and private jet bills. Despite earning over $1 billion during his career, Mayweather’s financial troubles have drawn attention in recent months.
