A hantavirus outbreak aboard the MV Hondius has left three dead and eight infected across Europe and South Africa — with the ship still at sea. Critically, the Andes strain on board is the only known type transmissible between humans. With 147 passengers from 23 countries already dispersing globally, the ship is due to dock at the Canary Islands on May 11.
