A CNN investigation using satellite imagery has found signs Iran may be rebuilding nuclear and missile facilities, raising questions over whether Tehran violated its June memorandum with the US.
Satellite Images Suggest Iran Rebuilding Nuclear Sites
New activity, old questions. According to CNN’s exclusive report by Katie Polglase and Allegra Goodwin, satellite imagery obtained from Vantor shows movement at several Iranian nuclear and missile sites in late June and early July — including vehicles entering tunnels at the suspected underground site Pickaxe Mountain on June 21, while the US-Iran memorandum was still in effect.
CNN also flagged activity at Parchin’s Taleghan 2 site, believed to store explosive material for nuclear weapons. The findings raise doubts about Iran’s compliance with the June 17 agreement, especially as fresh US-Iran strikes have since unraveled the fragile ceasefire.
The Pentagon declined to comment on the intelligence, citing operational security.
