🚨 Iranian MP threatens the UAE with “bitter and dark days ahead.”
Ali Khezrian, a member of Iran’s National Security Commission, accused the Emirates of deep coordination with Israel, including real-time intelligence sharing and even air force involvement during operations against Iran.
He also claimed that Saudi officials have privately raised concerns about this, citing Financial Times reporting.
Why the deep tensions?
⚪️ A decades-old territorial dispute. Iran has controlled Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunb islands since 1971, while the UAE continues to claim them.
⚪️ The UAE’s 2020 Abraham Accords normalization with Israel, with ties that continue to deepen, alongside close U.S. military ties and the hosting of American bases.
The 2026 war has pushed this rift into the open. Iran claims the UAE allowed the use of its airspace and territory and shared intelligence to support Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iranian targets.
In response, Iran has targeted the UAE more heavily than any other Persian Gulf state, launching missile and drone attacks that have damaged infrastructure, including Dubai airport.
The fallout is already visible.
Investor confidence is weakening, pressure is building on key sectors such as tourism, and Iranian officials are now warning of further consequences – as their own economy is being decimated and destroyed.
