Israel will not pull out of Lebanon following US-Iran MOU, minister says

Despite the US-Iran peace deal, Israel’s defence and security ministers have defiantly declared that IDF troops will not withdraw from any territories seized in Lebanon, Syria or Gaza.

Israel has a message for Washington — and it isn’t a friendly one.

Hours after the US and Iran announced a landmark memorandum of understanding, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz and far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir made one thing crystal clear: Israeli troops are going nowhere, reports ABC NEWS.

“Israel is not subordinate to the United States, and we are an independent and sovereign state,” Ben-Gvir declared bluntly.

Katz doubled down, saying IDF forces will remain in security zones across Lebanon, Syria and Gaza indefinitely — with plans to demolish all terrorist infrastructure and clear local residents from contact villages.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, notably, has yet to weigh in.
