Leaked US intelligence challenges Trump’s claim Iran war is ‘won’

Leaked intelligence reports indicate Iran’s leadership remains intact despite US-Israeli strikes, as the country’s new supreme leader warns of attacks on American bases.

Leaked U.S. intelligence assessments indicate that Iran’s government remains stable despite two weeks of intense U.S. and Israeli airstrikes. Sources told Reuters that a “multitude” of classified reports provide “consistent analysis that the regime is not in danger” of collapsing and still “retains control of the Iranian public.”

The reports emerged shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump declared the war had been “won” and would end “soon.” Hours later, six oil tankers were struck by Iranian suicide boats in the Strait of Hormuz, pushing global oil prices above $100 a barrel and underscoring continuing tensions in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, warned that U.S. “bases will be attacked” and vowed to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed. “Iran will not refrain from avenging the blood of its martyrs,” he said in a televised address, while adding, “We only targeted these military bases and we will continue.”
