Dalton Eatherly, a livestreamer known for filming racial harassment, was arrested for attempted murder after a shootout outside a Tennessee courthouse on Wednesday.
A man who livestreams himself shouting racial slurs at Black people was charged with attempted murder following a shooting outside a Montgomery County courthouse Wednesday. According to AP News, 28-year-old Dalton Eatherly, known online as “Chud the Builder,” was involved in a confrontation that left both him and another man hospitalized in stable condition.
Witnesses say Eatherly is notorious for antagonizing people while filming. In a video posted after the shooting, Eatherly claimed self-defense, asking paramedics, “Did I shoot myself or did it graze it?”
The incident occurred while Eatherly was facing separate charges for disorderly conduct and debt. Local resident Larry Quillen noted, “it’s a matter of time… what he’s doing is hate.” Eatherly remains in custody facing multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
