Norwegian Ambassador Mona Juul resigns after Epstein files reveal $10 million left to her children, prompting ongoing investigations into her and other prominent Norwegian figures.
OSLO – Norway’s ambassador to the UN, Mona Juul, resigned Sunday following scrutiny over her contacts with Jeffrey Epstein. The Foreign Ministry said the decision was “correct and necessary” after reports revealed Epstein left $10 million to Juul’s children. Juul acknowledged her contact with Epstein had been “sporadic and private” but admitted she should have been more careful.
The ministry will continue investigating Juul’s knowledge of Epstein and review funding linked to the International Peace Institute, headed by her husband Terje Rød-Larsen. Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide called Rød-Larsen’s judgment “poor,” while other Norwegian figures, including Crown Princess Mette-Marit and former PM Thorbjørn Jagland, face scrutiny in the growing Epstein scandal.
