Police in Arizona are examining new evidence, including a damaged utility box, as the investigation into the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie reaches day 36.
Authorities in Arizona have begun examining new potential evidence as the search for missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie enters its sixth week. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators are reviewing a damaged utility box near the Tucson home where the grandmother was last seen on January 31 after dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie.
Nancy was reported missing by her family on February 1, prompting a large investigation involving local authorities and the FBI. Surveillance images released earlier by investigators showed an armed man outside her residence on the morning she disappeared, appearing to tamper with the home’s security camera.
Providing an update, Sheriff Nanos said the investigation is continuing despite a man previously being briefly detained. “We’re moving on,” he stated, as detectives work to determine whether the damaged utility box and other leads could provide fresh clues in the case.
