Two 17-year-old boys from Cardiff have been arrested in Thailand, and South Wales Police are now trying to piece together how they ended up there.
Officers say they currently have “limited information” on the case but are gathering facts as the investigation unfolds, according to the BBC. The force has acknowledged how concerning this is for the families and wider community involved.
The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office confirmed it’s supporting the two British nationals and remains in contact with Thai authorities.
Police haven’t disclosed what the teenagers are accused of, but they’re actively examining the circumstances around their travel to the Southeast Asian country. Anyone with relevant information has been asked to come forward.
