The United States Justice Department has subpoenaed at least five Minnesota officials as part of an investigation into whether state and local leaders obstructed federal immigration enforcement efforts, according to sources familiar with the matter, with those named including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her, while Frey’s office confirmed on Tuesday that he has received the subpoena, which seeks records connected to the probe, as CNN reported that it had reached out to the other officials’ offices for comment but had yet to receive responses.
