Right-wing activist and Trump confidante Laura Loomer has claimed that former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is “brain dead” and will not return to Congress, weeks after he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Loomer, 33, described by administration insiders as “Trump’s loyalty enforcer,” posted on X that a high-level White House source told her McConnell was “officially brain dead” and “not coming back,” the Daily Beast reports. She later added claims of “organ failure.”
McConnell, 84, was found unresponsive on June 14 after suffering a cardiac arrest. His office has declined to confirm whether he is conscious or on life support, pointing instead to a July 2 statement saying he “continues to improve.” His office told the Daily Beast it would “keep you updated” when pressed for specifics.
Journalist Desiree Townsend, who first obtained emergency responder recordings confirming McConnell’s cardiac arrest, said she had heard similar reports from her own sources and was stationed at the hospital. McConnell has not been seen publicly since his hospitalisation and is set to retire from the Senate in January.
