Several MAGA-aligned figures are demanding that Senator Mitch McConnell’s office prove he is still alive, amid unverified claims about his condition nearly a month after his hospitalization.

A number of MAGA figures are demanding that Senator Mitch McConnell’s aides provide proof that the 84-year-old is still alive, nearly a month after his hospitalization, The Daily Beast reports.
McConnell’s office has repeatedly issued the same statement saying he “appreciates the outpouring of support” while continuing treatment following his June 14 hospitalization, after he was found unconscious and requiring CPR at his Washington home.
Speculation intensified after his wife, former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, traveled to Beijing to meet Chinese Vice President Han Zheng three days after his hospitalization. Far-right activist Laura Loomer claimed, citing unnamed sources, that McConnell is in a “vegetative state,” while independent journalist Desirée Townsend made similar unverified claims.
Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle and influencer Catturd have both publicly called on McConnell’s staff to release proof of his condition. Steve Bannon has suggested the office is concealing McConnell’s status to avoid triggering a special election. Senator Mike Lee pushed back on claims that lawmakers are complicit in hiding information, saying senators “know nothing” about McConnell’s condition.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said last month he had spoken with McConnell, who “sounded good” and wants to return to work.
