Kyiv, projecting a $55 billion production capacity for 2026, aims to bridge a $40 billion funding gap through American investment. The deal follows the success of “Operation Spiderweb,” a 2025 drone strike that President Trump privately praised.
Despite some political friction, including Mr. Trump’s claim, “We don’t need their help in drone defense,” the memorandum suggests a breakthrough. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hailed the progress on Telegram, stating, “We are preparing positive news for Ukraine.” Ukrainian firms like General Cherry and Sine Engineering have already begun U.S. collaborations to produce millions of GPS-independent drones.
