A UN commission of inquiry has concluded that Israel deliberately targeted Palestinian children in Gaza, with the actions amounting to genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
A United Nations commission has levelled its most damning findings yet against Israel over the Gaza war.
The independent UN body concluded that Israeli forces systematically killed and injured Palestinian children, who accounted for roughly 30% of reported fatalities, Reuters reported Monday. The commission said the use of heavy weapons in densely populated areas reflected genocidal intent to destroy Palestinians as a group and cited continued violence even after an October 2025 ceasefire.
Israel has flatly rejected the findings, dismissing them as biased and defamatory, and maintaining its operations target Hamas while working to limit civilian casualties. The report is expected to intensify international pressure on Israel amid ongoing scrutiny of its conduct throughout the conflict.
